Hard Ball Get Wins 2012 Lee Steere Classic – Race Results

December 17th, 2012

Hard Ball Get has won the Group 3 Lee Steere Classic at Ascot Racecourse last Saturday December 15, 2012.

The three-year-old has now won three of his four race starts and has earned more than $160,000 in prize money during his horse racing career.

Hard Ball Get won the race by almost a length ahead of Fuddle Dee Duddle, who placed second, and Passion Cantata, who passed the post in third position.

The Aussie Rules gelding now has that all elusive Group title to his name and will endeavour to continue his winning run throughout the Perth Summer Racing Carnival.

However, despite Hard Ball Get’s win, trainer Simon Miller was left shattered after the race when his star filly Miss Bux was found to have severed a tendon in her hind leg.

The injury, caused by contact from Fuddle Dee Duddle in the run, will prove career-ending.

“I am just devestated,” Miller said.

“She was my best filly and I had big plans for her.”

“I hoped to take her across to Adelaide to run in the Group 1 Robert Sangster”
